Austin Wippel | 2015 American Star Farmer

Austin Wippel of Orient, Ohio, the 2015 American Star Farmer, built a hay and straw baling business covering roughly 185 acres a year while also farming 65 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa hay. A member of the Westfall FFA chapter, he grew his operation by purchasing equipment, hiring employees, expanding into silage chopping, and tapping niche grain markets. The video follows his journey and his plans to continue diversifying his business while studying agronomy at The Ohio State University.
