Affinity
The Affinity literacy strategy is a National FFA Organization tool that helps students find elements in common (affinities) across information to break old patterns of thought and organize large quantities of information. It includes a student worksheet where students note facts from a reading, group similar information under main-idea topics, and reflect on the importance of finding patterns. The strategy can be applied to any reading, video, website, or lecture and may be done in pairs.
