Equine Dentistry: Looking a Horse in the Mouth

This is a 15-minute “quick” FFA lesson plan in which students watch the video “Vets on Call: Horse Dentist Removes Fractured Tooth” and complete the accompanying “Looking a Horse in the Mouth” worksheet. It teaches students about equine dental tools, the process of equine oral surgery and tooth extraction, and the technical and interpersonal skills needed to be a veterinarian. The resource includes an interest approach, the video activity, a follow-up discussion, and a student worksheet with answer key.
