Hannah and Grace – SAE – Ctenophores

A two-part student worksheet titled “Research: An SAE Opportunity” that uses the video about Grace Ramcke and Hannah Colonese’s ctenophore research SAE to introduce research as a Supervised Agricultural Experience opportunity. In Part 1 students answer questions while watching the video; in Part 2 they identify the steps of the research process, apply them to the featured SAE, and develop their own research plan.

Ctenophore SAE

Grace Ramcke and Hannah Colonese, seniors at the Sound School, share their supervised agriculture experience. Their project focuses on using bioluminescence to monitor brain patterns in PTSD patients. After facing initial setbacks, they improved their system with expert guidance. They highlight the value of starting an SAE early and how this experience enhances their future careers in marine life, enjoying the hands-on work with the fish.
