HS.86 Developing Speeches Using the Magic Formula
This LifeKnowledge lesson (HS.86) teaches high school students how to write and present speeches using the “Magic Formula,” a structured tool with four steps (Prepare, Create the Body, Create the Closing, Create the Opening). Through interest approaches, an anagram activity, a cartographer mapping exercise, and a color-coded speech analysis, students learn to describe the speech-writing process and identify the formula’s components within an example speech.
