JaKolbie Jones – Backyard Chickens
This FFA lesson plan, “Backyard Chickens,” follows student Ja’Kolbie Jones’s supervised agricultural experience (SAE) raising chickens in his backyard. Through a video, worksheets, and research activities, students learn how chicken embryos develop, outline the process of incubating and hatching chicken eggs, and reflect on the potential difficulties of incubation. The resource includes student activity sheets (“A Chick, Chick Here” and “Everywhere a Chick”) with answer keys.
