Lesson 2 – Research and Development

This is a 95-minute agricultural education lesson plan (Lesson Plan 2 of 8) developed by the National FFA Organization with Valent USA, focused on research and development and the role of sustainability in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources value chain. Through a Surprise Bag Challenge, a biorational products jigsaw reading, a Cargill Virtual Field Trip, and a Trail Mix Challenge, students learn the R&D process, how to write effective consumer surveys, and the importance of biorational products in sustainable agriculture. It includes student worksheets, an example grower survey appendix, and answer keys.
