Lesson 2: Safe Handling of Food
This National FFA lesson plan (Unit 3, Lesson 2 of 3: “Safe Handling of Food”) teaches students about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and safe ways to handle food to prevent foodborne illness. Through a GloGerm bell ringer, two PowerPoints, a food safety art activity, a foodborne-illness case study, and a karaoke review song, students learn how contaminants travel and how food supply safety is maintained.
