Morgan Weidow – Biomedical Research SAE Lesson Plan

This is a 50-minute FFA lesson plan introducing students to supervised agricultural experience (SAE) programs in biomedical research and the importance of attention to detail in lab settings. Students watch a video featuring an FFA member’s biomedical research SAE, complete a “Biomedical: Focusing on Details” worksheet, and explore science-related SAE topics using SAE Idea Cards and AgExplorer to investigate related careers.

Biomedical Research SAE

Morgan Weidow, a senior at Corvallis High School, interns at Rocky Mountain Laboratories where she assists with lab procedures. She values attention to detail and communication while gaining hands-on experience in medical research. Despite facing a steep learning curve, she receives support from her boss and colleagues, which helps her understand research processes and publication.
