MS.25 Seeking Counseling

This LifeKnowledge middle school lesson (MS.25, “Seeking Counseling”) teaches students about when and where to seek counseling, distinguishing informal counselors (friends, family, teachers) from formal counselors (mental health, drug/alcohol, and abuse agency counselors, physicians, etc.). Through an interest approach using famous figures, note-taking, a counselor-matching activity, and a creative short-story review, students identify situations that may require counseling, types of counselors, and the benefits of appropriate counseling.
