This is a LifeKnowledge middle school lesson (MS.53, “Evaluating Potential Impacts”) on problem-solving in which students learn to weigh the positive and negative impacts of potential solutions. Working from a “problem of the day,” students brainstorm solutions, build pro/con lists, evaluate the impacts on people, places, and relationships, and vote to select the best solution.
