Part 1: SAEs Defined

This is a National FFA lesson plan (Section 4: Part 1, “Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Programs: SAEs Defined”) that introduces students to what an SAE is, its purpose, and the different types of SAEs and their benefits. Through paired activities, envelope analysis exercises, and a definition-writing task, students explore the six SAE types and begin planning their own projects. The resource includes supporting student-success articles profiling real FFA members’ SAEs and a “Planning a Supervised Agricultural Experience” worksheet with an SAE work contract.
