Student Activity Sheets – Lesson 3: Animal Production
This is a multi-part student activity packet on food-animal production and nutrition. Students match meals to the animal species that produced them, research a food-animal species (beef, broiler chickens, dairy, eggs, pork, turkey, or sheep/goats) to create a 5-minute “news broadcast” covering farm-to-fork production, hot-topic issues, animal welfare, and environmental impact, compare local grocery product costs, and analyze the nutritional value of foods. A presentation rubric is included for grading the “Teach the World” broadcast.
