Teaching Methods (All)

This is a teacher reference document describing three instructional methods—Direct Instruction, Cooperative Learning, and Individualized Learning—that can be used to deliver the information across a three-lesson unit. For each method it outlines the approach, required materials, considerations (time, class size, internet needs), and suggested classroom layout, helping teachers choose the method that best fits their classroom size, resources, and schedule.

Direct Instruction Learning – Considerations
Time: 55 minutes; Class size: any; Internet: not needed
Cooperative Learning – Considerations
Time: 55-90 minutes; Class size: Depending on number of topics covered, at least two students per topic; Internet: Needed, at least one device per group
Individualized Learning – Considerations
Time: 120+ minutes; Class size: Small, each student researches a topic; Internet: Needed, one device per student
