Tractor Supply Company: How and Why to Compost
A quick (30-minute) FFA lesson plan developed with Tractor Supply Company that teaches students how and why to compost. Students watch a Tractor Supply Company video and complete the “Breaking it Down to Grow More” worksheet to define composting, label the materials/tools/location of a compost pile, explain the importance of the correct green-to-brown ratio, and discuss why composting matters. An optional “Leveling Up” activity has students start a class compost pile or research commercialized composting.
