Justin Zahradka | 2015 American Star in Agriscience

Justin Zahradka of Park River, North Dakota, is the 2015 American Star in Agriscience winner, recognized for his research into cover crops as a solution to soil erosion in his area. Through years of methodical data collection, cattle weighing, plant analysis, and soil testing, he identified cover crop combinations that boosted cattle weight gain, improved nitrogen fixation, and increased profit per acre. A member of the Park River FFA chapter advised by Brent Arndt, Justin attends North Dakota State University, where he studies crop and weed science.
