Tyler Schnaithman | 2016 American Star Farmer
Tyler Schnaithman of Garber, Oklahoma, is the 2016 American Star Farmer, having built his agricultural enterprise since signing his first loan at age 11 to buy a swather. Working alongside his father and brother on a family farm established in 1893, he raises Angus cattle and sheep while growing a no-till rotation of wheat, canola, beans, corn, and alfalfa. A member of the Garber High School FFA chapter, Tyler developed a strategy of selling wheat at certified seed prices that increased his crop income by 31% and went on to study agricultural economics at Oklahoma State University.
