1.5 Cultural Practices
This is Lesson Five (Cultural Practices) of Unit 1: Identification, a National FFA lesson plan teaching the common cultural practices used in the nursery/landscaping industry. Students learn to define practices such as watering, fertilization, aeration, mulching, pest/disease control, pruning, weed control, dead heading, and pinching, and to determine how these practices benefit plants in the landscape. The resource includes a lesson plan with introduction/activity/reflection sections, a Cultural Practices Notes Sheet, and a “What Can Be Done?” worksheet.
