2.3 Design Concepts
This is a 60-minute lesson plan (Unit 2: Skills, Lesson Three) from the National FFA Organization that teaches the six principles of landscape design—balance, focalization of interest, simplicity, rhythm and line, proportion, and unity. Through a PowerPoint lecture, a notes sheet, and a reflection activity, students learn to define design principles, illustrate how they are applied, and create their own landscape design for their home or school.
