Fencing Basics
This FFA “Fencing Basics” lesson plan introduces students to types of fencing, how to select the proper fence, and how to calculate, budget, and plan for fencing using the Red Brand website (www.redbrand.com). Through a PowerPoint, two student worksheets (with answer key), and a fence-building activity, students learn to read fence style numbers, identify wire types and knots, and estimate fencing costs. It fits well within a farm management unit and emphasizes problem solving and critical thinking.
