Presentations: Listen Up
“Listen Up” is a 50-minute FFA public-speaking lesson plan in which students learn how to “recapture” an audience’s attention during a presentation. After watching a video on presentation skills, students complete the “Reengage with Me” worksheet, write and deliver a 1-2 minute speech about themselves indicating where they will recapture attention, and observe/tally peers’ attention-recapturing techniques (pace, tone of voice, body language/movement).
